North Weald Airfield
North Weald Airfield (EGSX) was established in 1916 and played an important tactical role as a fighter station during the Battle of Britain. It is currently home to a museum commemorating its history and importance in both World Wars. In the 1990s, one North Weald Airfield's hangars was used as the location for Channel 4's TV game show 'The Crystal Maze' and it currently sees around 20,000 aircraft movements per year. Ideally located for sightseeing flights around London and short hops to mainland Europe, EGSX is a favourite amongst Wingly passengers.
