Sherburn-In-Elmet Airfield
Sherburn-in-Elmet Airfield (EGCJ) was home to the Yorkshire Aeroplane Club in the 1920's as well as an aircraft production factory which produced Fairey Swordfish naval torpedo aircraft during the Second World War. Nowadays, EGCJ hosts a modern flying club, a flight simulator club and a flight training school offering a wide variety of choice for the prospective private pilot. Sherburn-in-Elmet Airfield is a favourite amongst Wingly pilots and passengers alike, located a short hop from Leeds, York, Hull and the coast.
